Peninsular River System
The Peninsular drainage system is older than the Himalayan system, characterized by broad, shallow, mature valleys, fixed courses with little meandering, and a non-perennial (rain-fed) flow regime draining primarily into the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
